Hella Ibrahim - French Film Friday: chick flicks - Ma Vie Francaise - My French Life - www.MyFrenchLife.org

Welcome back to another French Film Friday! In the words of Rihanna, here’s to the freakin’ weekend! To help you get in the weekender zone, we bring you a selection of French films that we love, hate, or think you should watch just to say you’ve watched them.

Today we’re talking chick flicks. So grab some girlfriends, blankets and popcorn, and settle in for a quiet weekend with this week’s selection.

‘Tout ce qui brille’

Two childhood friends living in Puteaux, craving adventure, enter a strange new world: Paris. But as the title suggests, all that glitters ain’t gold, at least not in this film.

‘Fauteuils d’orchestre’

A young woman follows the advice of her grandmother and heads to Paris. She gets a job as a waitress in a cafe that never hires women. She meets a pianist, a famous actress and a great art collector, and learns their stories. And of course, she falls in love.

‘Le battement d’ailes du papillon’

Oh hey look you guys, another Audrey Tautou film! ‘Happenstance’ is the English title and if you like the idea of chance and fate as much as I do, you’ll enjoy this story of a woman whose horoscope tells her that today, she’ll meet her true love.
