Video: Australian women don’t get fat?

Mireille

Mireille Guiliano, author of ‘French women don’t get fat’ revealed to the world the secret of how French women stay slim.

It seems she has more than a few other pearls of wisdom up her sleeve.

In a recent ad campaign for the Australian dairy industry, she uncovered another hidden home truth…

“When I wrote ‘French women don’t get fat’, it was my way of saying you can enjoy good things,” says Guiliano in her gorgeous French lilt, “like cheese, yoghurt and milk.

“Eating these things every day as part of a balanced diet is not linked with weight gain.

“And Australian dairy? Oh my… It’s with the best in the world!”

It seems it’s not only French women who have the secret to staying slim, and keeping healthy. Apparently Australian women don’t get fat either! (That is, if they eat enough Aussie dairy.)

Guiliano explains more on her blog:

“It is certainly no secret that I love yogurt and cheese, but I was still puzzled (why me?) when I got an email from a creative director of an Australian ad agency asking if I would consider doing a 30-second television commercial as part of the ‘Legendairy’ campaign for the Australian dairy industry.”

“I’m not sure I could get used to being referred to as ‘the talent’ but it’s the advertising parlance. As for the Australian crew, a visit to Provence was a first for them, and in a few hours they fell in love with the light, the smell, the colors and anything French, including the local yogurt and cheese.

“It was easy to smile. Life is good.”

As a jeune Australian femme, all I can say is: “pass the fromage!”

Growing up in country Victoria, we used to drink milk straight from the milk vat during milking time. Toasted cheese sandwiches were and remain my comfort food. Australia’s cheese and milk in their ‘fully fattest form’ are definitely not to blame for our puddin’ folk. Not unless one is sprinkling sugar on them … 🙂

I completely agree Sandra!! I think the French have it right here: it’s not about avoiding foods, especially natural, wholesome ones like dairy! We just have to enjoy everything in moderation… can be tricky sometimes… 😉

As my friend’s Mum used to say, ‘Everything in moderation. Even moderation’.:)
