What is it?

This year, Chinese New Year falls on Monday 8 February. To celebrate there will be markets, concerts, and parades throughout Paris. A huge range of cultural activities will be taking place all over Paris in February.

The event not-to-be-missed is the traditional and plus beau parade that takes place on Saturday 13 February in the 3rd and 4th arrondissements.

Enjoy contemporary Chinese art in Paris

What is it?

Bentu’, la terre natale, will showcase the work of 12 artists from different generations, to explore the complexities and issues of an ever changing culture.

Presented by the Louis Vuitton Foundation, the exhibition will be the first in ten years to focus on contemporary Chinese art.

What is it?

A dance festival combining contemporary style, talented dancers, and international choreographers. Suresnes cites danse gives young, underprivileged urban dancers the chance to perform with expert choreographers and dancers.

Past experts include ballet star Marie-Agnès Gillot, of the Opéra de Paris. Every show brings something fresh and new to the Paris dance scene. Don’t miss your chance to see some up and coming dance stars this Paris in February!

Luxury luggage: a Louis Vuitton retrospective

What is it?

Nothing says French creative craftsmanship more than the name Louis Vuitton. ‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton’ follows the story of the historic trunk maker from 1845 to today, exploring the evolution of this noteworthy name in luxury goods from humble beginnings to unparalleled international success.

Curated by Olivier Saillard, it’s an excellent opportunity to experience French fashion history this Paris in February.

Spend a night in stitches

What is it?

Ma femme me trompe son amant aussi is the story of a 40 something woman—Arielle—who wants to change her life. She is determined to find a lover through an online dating site without arousing the suspicions of her husband, but finds herself in an exceedingly tricky situation.

Mix-ups, plenty of gags, and an unrestrained rhythm provide the perfect ingredients for a great night out.

Enjoy the best of Parisian street food

MyFrenchLife™-Paris in February-PUXANBC-Le Food Market

What is it?

A market of freshly made dishes to eat-in or takeaway. It takes place one Thursday evening a month and is redefining Paris street food. The space provides the opportunity to enjoy great food from over 15 different cuisines at very reasonable prices.  

If you haven’t already been to the Le Food market, then it’s worth braving the cold to explore this newfound Paris institution!

Parade through the streets of Paris in your best disguise

What is it?

The 19th annual Paris Carnival! Young and old are invited to parade in an aquatic fantasy themed world for the afternoon. Whether you’re Nemo, Dory or the Little Mermaid it’s time to dive into the costume box and dress up!

Starting in Place Gambetta and arriving in place de la République, the carnival is great fun for the family this Paris in February.
