Paris insight – ‘Gritty Garçon’

A crisp white shirt, a sharply knotted bowtie, a fitted vest,
commanding demeanor…and a graffiti-covered payphone?
Perhaps the reservation line is down at
his 5-star bistro, or stingy European tips don’t
pay the cell phone bill.

Contrast is the attraction in this odd scene,
where the height of class inexplicably
toils in the seat of seediness,
but never sacrifices his dignity.
There are a million stories in the illuminated city,
and this is one of them…
