Parents spoke French when they didn’t want us to understand; encouraged to learn French and taken on the Grand Tour at 12; Studied French, Politics and Law at the University of Melbourne and intensive French course at University of Nice in 1985/6; Completed a PhD on the European Union in 2003. Many trips to France inc Villers-Bretonneux, Bordeaux (research on wine) and Paris. Harvey is Norman name. Ambition to spend part of every year in France but still work and family commitments in Melbourne; Always wear a beret (often only one in both France and Australia!)
