The 10 Most Beautiful Markets in France: how many have you been to?

Markets in France, whether they be street markets, open markets, or covered markets, are all pretty wonderful in my view. Attending French markets is one of my favourite pastimes: not only do I get to buy fresh French vegetables, practice my French language skills, and people watch, as well as eavesdrop… and sometimes to even eat.

Votre Plus Beau Marché

I have the pleasure of sharing the ‘official’ top three ‘Most Beautiful Markets’ in France according to a tough competition conducted by the French national commercial TV channel TF1. This is Season 6 of this competition, with the competition fierce, and the voting participation level substantial!

In total, no less than 9.5 million votes were recorded on TF1info. And among the 200 candidate cities at the start, the number then reduced to 24, then 10. The winner was announced on 29 June 2023.
