Bonjour Judy! We're really pleased to have found your Substack. Like you, we're all about understanding what makes France, France - but we focus on the renovation world (things aren't the same here as they are in the UK and the US). We're looking forward to getting stuck into your writing!

Love this glimpse, Judy.

I would be so interested in knowing how the passion project first made its way. What your background was before that (both work and play :)). Maybe you've written about that elsewhere?

That ocean looks so inviting!

Laura,

This is one of my favourite pastimes, walking with just my feet in the water! calming. and a great pedicure ;)

And I'd have to say that my curiosity and creativity have driven the launch and growth of MyFrenchLife. At the beginning, I was intrigued by why so many people in our French conversation group loved the language were francophiles... so many had different stories!

I was thinking if I'm intrigued by this francophilia thing, then others must be too... And my interest has always been much deeper than many of the blogs and sites around at the time. Clichés, and the "oh, isn't it beautiful" are not my thing :). Although I dont deny that there is so much beauty, it comes together with history, literature, culture, fascinating people, and so much more, not forgetting the paradoxes!

My background comprises multiple careers - not writing or publishing, though! (can be found on LinkedIn)

Thanks for your comment and interest

Judy

Lovely to see/meet you- the feet in the water shot looks like a lovely wet walk.

Thank you, Bob. Yes, I like to walk on the sand with my feet in the water. It's one of my calming exercises and better than any Podiatric Pedicure I've ever had...And then it rained :) beautiful. I didn't know the photo was being taken, actually, I was miles away :) A talented photographer at work.
