Thanks again for the great discussion of My Cousin Maria Schneider, led by Facilitator, Elisabeth Sauvage-Callaghan and our fearless leader Judy MacMahon!

Let’s look at what we have coming next. As always, we’ll be reading recently translated French fiction:

My Husband (Mon Mari) by Maud Ventura is described as a “suspenseful and darkly funny debut novel, where a sophisticated French woman spends her life obsessing over her perfect husband—but can their marriage survive her passionate love?”

The book won France’s Debut Novel award and was named Best Book of the Summer by multiple publications. The New York Times called it, “A slow-fuse tale of obsession and marital claustrophobia.”

Sounds like fun!

Who is Keith Van Sickle, you may wonder?

• Keith and his wife Val split their time between Provence and California.

• He is the author of An Insider’s Guide to Provence and the travel memoirs One Sip at a Time and Are We French Yet? 

• Keith is a regular contributor to My French Life Magazine, is an enthusiastic French reader, and

• has previously facilitated our Book Club Discussion Events.
