I'm so excited to be able to make this announcement (together with Jacqueline). Reading French books (in French or English) is such a great way to get closer to understanding French culture et al. IT will be up to you all to show us how keen you are to read with us! its up to you please share the news and invite others to join.
Yes, definitely considering. The author and translator were just here at the American Library in Paris. Wasn't able to go. Who knew it would make such a sensation. Look forward to reading it.
hi there, Gaye - I hope that you're well. Lovely to see you pop up immediately - thank you. I'm not sure how we'll work this yet... I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts. Right now, I'm thinking the first thing we'll do will be to open a live chat channel and let everyone know when we announce in December... what would your preference be?
Yes definitely want to discuss Mons’s eyes. I’m reading in English but have visited these Parisian museums so many times so i “see” the works of art in my mind.
I’ve made more than 30 visits to Paris over the years, last in 2022. In the last decade I usually stay w a Parisian friend in the XVieme whom I met through an American friend who has a Paris flat.
I had 12 years instruction from native French teachers over my grammar/high school years growing up in NYC. Used to be fully fluent but speaking harder while written French comprehension is still good.
Not sure how I landed on thread altho I’m a member of American Library in Paris, and listen to their Zoom talks.
I'm not sure that we've met - yet :) - I'm thrilled to welcome you here. Where are you based? You mention having been in Paris .

Thanks toutes les deux!
I loved reading 3 or 4 of the French book club books last year( in English) and would love to read Mona’s Eyes.
