Even though you are small in number you are grand in impact, as a paying subscriber.

One of the very best things I’ve done in the last year has been to move to from Mailchimp to Substack, in May 2023.

I really enjoy the way writers interact and collaborate on Substack, and I enjoy the way I have better interactivity with those who choose to subscribe, especially with you, who are paying for a subscription.

I feel that I say thank you to you often, yet I feel that I haven’t shown my gratitude sufficiently. You see, having paying subscribers is something new for me and it has changed my life for the better.

The le Bulletin newsletter this week was number 13.51 and that means for 13 years and 51 weeks I’ve been writing ‘le Bulletin’ and sending it to you and others like you - that’s more than 700 newsletters.

It’s only for the last 31 weeks that I’ve been here on Substack. In fact, for every newsletter I send out, Substack sends me a little congratulatory plaque. It seems that only 10% of us write to subscribers every week. That surprises me.

So, back to my gratitude. After so many years of writing without compensation, that means that what you pay now seems even more amazing. What I’m trying to say is “Merci Mille fois !”
