Hi Judy, the restaurant Lazare Paris at the station was really good, but I noticed they changed name to Brasserie Lazare. It's the same 3-Star Michelin chef who still runs the place (Eric Frécho). Prices are normal, food is really excellent.

And then there's obviously Le Train Blue... but I think everyone knows that one...

I remember going to Gare du Nord to collect my daughter who had come to England and wanted to spend the weekend in Paris with me. What an adventure! I enjoyed listening to the video with sound of trains coming in.

Isn’t interesting how sound can be so transporting? We know it intellectually but it continues to surprise :)

I’ve been using Lazare for 30 years now, and love it. Especially since they put the shopping center on the station with many shops. Running late? Pop in to buy you food at one of the many groceries. Want to eat at a restaurant but don’t want to miss your train. There’s a great restaurant in the shopping center.

Mike. Hi. I’m soon to write an article about how to eat well near a Parisian railway station. I’d be delighted if you have some favourites you’d share... merci d’avance. Judy

HI Mike, I've only been to Lazare once when heading to Normandy to visit friends, and that was before the pandemic. I too love when a station has quality food available, to eat on the train, take home or eat there. I often wonder why in other parts of the world train stations seem to attract the underbelly of society, ot so in France, I've found.

Warm regards

Judy
