1. Are you an Adventurer?

Last week in the free edition of le Bulletin 14.26, I introduced two fabulous examples of adventurers within our community. Jennifer Andrewes and others.
— Read on as I have a question for you…
Last week I put out a call asking you to share with me your story, if you’ve ever had a fabulous adventure, especially in France… and I’d love to hear yours!
… responses have started coming in (fabulous ones and hilarious ones).
I’ll share some of these soon, some will be anonymous ( ha! ) - others not so, but with permission of course!
Jennifer Andrewes: the adventurer!
Today I’d like to celebrate the beginning of Jennifer Andrewes's trek — Walking the Via Francigena — a 2500km walk through England, France, Switzerland, and Italy. Jennifer left Canterbury Cathedral in England on Monday 8 July 2024.
On ‘Day-1’ (Sunday) she said:
Not even day one and it promises to be an unexpected journey with plenty of surprises.
Camino Playlist:
And here exceptionally I’ll share* Jennifer’s Day-1 Camino playlist.
[*I won’t do this again. If you buy a pass to walk with Jennifer virtually, you’ll have daily access to her physical and mental challenges: the joy, the excitement, and the struggles - I recommend it, I’m there with >100 others]
Camino playlist today: I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor.
‘At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Thinking I could live without you by my side|
…
Think I'd crumble?
You think I'd lay down and die?
No, not I, I will survive
Long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got my life to live
And all my love to give and
I will survive
I, I, I will survive.’
You can read my article and interview with Jennifer about her challenges: The Via Francigena and having early onset Parkinson’s Disease.
“The world is not in your books and maps, it is out there.”
