1 →Wissant: Beautiful in Summer and Winter — Part 1
by Caroline McCormick-Clarke ←
I love Wissant for its beautiful bay, the uplifting light, the sunsets, the fiercely independent, no-nonsense locals, & the beautiful food. My husband prefers the depths of winter here when the vent du nord is truly blowing, the rain can be relentless and there are minimal tourists.
…Reminding you that Caroline is a new Contributor to MyFrenchLife Magazine, This is her second article. - Welcome Caroline.
2. France: Exploring the Islands of Brittany

The islands of Brittany: From the nearly 800 islands I've chosen to feature three that are a bit more 'sauvage' to discover and explore. On y va? Let's go!

There are currently 80 writers in our Library, and we’re adding more all the time as we come across fascinating writing from France which is being published on Substack.
#FranceStack is housed on the le Bulletin newsletter website. ←and it remains pinning to the top, to make it easy for you to find.
Now, about the navigation.
A list of 80 writers writing about different topics presents as quite a challenge in terms of navigation.
How to navigate #FranceStack
When you OPEN the link to #FranceStack,
pause and then,
move your CURSOR over the top left hand side of the page, then right click and a table of contents will appear.
The library contents are ARRANGED alphabetically, and sorted by the name of their publication. Under the listing of each publication, you’ll find the name of the author and what they write about. In an attempt to make this easier for you. The listings are arranged in groups- eg: A-C, D-F, G-I, J-L, M-O, P-R, S-U, V-Z

Jennifer Andrewes: Pilgrimage Report

The only constant on our INSTA account for the last 107 days has been the weekly post by Jennifer Andrewes on her 2024 solo pilgrimage - Via Francigena - Canterbury to Rome: 2500km
Having crossed northern France, then the St Bernard Pass, (the third highest) from Switzerland to Italy, through Sienna… and onward toward Roma.
Rome was only 20km away when she wrote these words:
Roma here we come, ready or not. After 2,385km of anticipation the last 20km awaits.
Bonus playlist song today: Starship, ‘Nothing’s gonna stop us now’.
‘… Let 'em say we're crazy, I don't care about that
Put your hand in my hand baby, don't ever look back
Let the world around us just fall apart
Baby, we can make it if we're heart to heart.’
Our momentum overcomes all obstacles.
You can read the details and see her progress map in her weekly guest post on our Instagram account @maviefrancaise
AND NOW, SHE’S ARRIVED in ROME, 2409km from Canterbury, and the day before her birthday… Congratulations Jennifer Andrewes!
How do you challenge yourself?
Have you ever undertaken what you’ve called a ‘big’ challenge?
Do you have a message for Jennifer?
