Bookclub announcement! May-July pick
‘My Cousin Maria Schneider’ by Vanessa Schneider has just been published in English, translated by Molly Ringwald (an actress and a Francophile !) and I thought it could be our next exciting MyFrenchLife™ bookclub pick to discuss.
I guess everyone has seen or heard of the 70s film ‘Last Tango in Paris ‘, where Maria Schneider starred opposite Marlon Brando in a very controversial role that affected the rest of her career and life. She died in 2011, aged 58.
We can still discuss ‘Mad Women’s Ball’ and ‘Love me Tender’
’ if you have not finished reading them as the theme of #womensissues, books written by and about women can be continued with this new suggestion.
And an Excellent article in The New Yorker https://www.newyorker.com/.../remembering-maria-schneider...
If you’re interested to read with us, then please let us know below! This is a global book club, in which you can read in French or English. The discussion is held in English but we could organise a French discussion if there are sufficient readers interested in that.
I invite you to read with us! Email us at info@MyFrenchLife.org if you’re interested to join us/read with us or if you have questions.

Do you ever select English language books with a French life theme as the subject of the book club? Pardon My French by Rachael Mogan McIntosh is a funny, heartbreaking memoir of a young Australian family’s year in France. A contemporary Year in Provence with an antipodean sense of humour. I highly recommend it.
