The Paris Library is not great literature, but it is a decent read. Btw, an American friend of mine who loves this book and the American Library in Paris went to Paris last January and managed to meet tge author, who was gracious enough to spend a couple of hours with her and take her to her favorite bookstore.😊

There is a wonderful book called the Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles. It’s not great literature but a great story of how the American Library in Paris stayed open during WWII and got books to Jews and soldiers. It has been translated into French if anyone wants to read it in French.

“When the Nazis march into Paris, Odile stands to lose everything she holds dear, including her beloved Library. Together with her fellow librarians, Odile joins the Resistance with the best weapons she has: books. But when the war finally ends, instead of freedom, Odile tastes the bitter sting of unspeakable betrayal.”

Just a thought,

Sara

It’s a really interesting book isn’t it? What I’m trying to do here is to open up this discussion. Thank you!!!! I’m hoping that we can start to read different themes... so watch this space! And don’t be backward in coming forward so we can increase our readership horizon
