I haven’t been to Paris in awhile, but I last stayed in the 10eme and admire all your local recommendations there. What you did not mention, and I most enjoyed, were the open-air markets along the Canal St. Martin. Such incredible food presented there to take home and cook!
I did get pick-pocketed in the Metro after an exhausting day at the Louvre; rush hour press, a moment’s inattention on my part and an incredibly professional operation. After that my wife doled out a few euros to me daily, and I was a free man in Paris, unfettered and alive.
Fraud protection on the cards and I had all my data written out just in case. I called one card and they put me on hold. I told them it would cost them. When he returned after five minutes he exclaimed at how much it did.
Love! Happily, I know Paris reasonably well and am familiar with some of the places you noted…but certainly not all! I’m saving this (my third save today, very unusual!). I’m now a bit Bon Marché-sick. Their jewellery department is to die and I am a total magpie. I’m dreadfully sorry — for both of us — I don’t remember the name of the place in the Marais where I had the best G&T in my life. I am not kidding, it was sublime. Maybe there’s a location on my photo?? I’ll look! EDIT: All I can tell you is that it was somewhere in the 4th. 😢
Wow great list and so thoughtful! As a recent French expat, it takes a while to feel like you really know the best places in each neighborhood but this is one of the best lists I’ve seen and not just listing all the usual suspects. Merci!!
I second the suggestion of taking pastries from Aki to Palais Royal! I'm definitely looking forward to trying some of the restaurants on this list, I live near Paulownia and haven't managed to get there yet!
This is such a fantastic list! I love the Coulée Verte, which I discovered recently with my daughter's family. And the restaurant recommendations! I'll definitely be saving this.
Love this title of this post Shelby! Now surely I’ve seen you about before, your green space recommends align with my tick-list perfectly!
Thank you! And maybe I’ll see you out in one of those green spaces!

Thank you for the rec and for sharing! Glad your pickpocketing adventure turned out okay in the end 😜
Oh no to the pick-pocketing but as to all your other commentary Bruce. I agree totally

Thank you, this is so generous of you
Thank you for this…having lived in Paris for a year and a half, I’ve only touched a fraction of these but now I can explore with more purpose!!!
Enjoy! And keep in mind it needs some updating, it’s a year old now 😳

This is one of the best lists I’ve seen that isn’t all the standards! Wish I was going soon so I could try some of these spots 😍
