My favourite thing about Christmas in France…
The way that it creeps up on you.
By the time Christmas actually rolls around in the States, you’ve been waiting so long that it’s a bit anti-climactic.
Christmas in France tends to just pop up; the decorations only come out about a month before, and it’s just enough time to get excited and finish your Christmas shopping before the big day.
What I miss about Christmas in my hometown…
Christmas movies on television. I managed to track down a copy of ‘Rudolph’ here, but that’s about it.
What I think the French do better at Christmas…
Christmas dinner! My mom is an amazing chef, but the traditional offerings of Christmas meals here are definitely to my liking: foie gras, oysters, Champagne, capon, bûche… I’m drooling just thinking about it!
