WIN: Paris ‘Le Shop Guide’ by Michi Girl

Win the ultimate Paris Guide – it’s easy! Scroll down for details.

Michi Girl - Le Shop Guide - Paris Guide - off the beaten track - My French Life

‘Le Shop Guide’ by Michi Girl is the ultimate fashion guide for Paris.

Michi Girl takes us on a journey from Les Tuileries to Le Marais to discover the best shops of Paris, but not just any shops. As she explains, they’re “the ones that will help you look, act, and shop like a local”.

Full of things to do and places to go off the beaten track, when it comes to Paris guides, we think this one is a veritable goldmine…

Written by Chloe Quigley and Daniel Pollock, the Melbourne based duo hiding behind Michi Girl, the book is an extension of their hugely popular website. Michi first stalked onto our computer screens back in 2000 in a daily newsletter commenting on the day’s weather. Now she’s gone much farther afield than Melbourne, and shares her thoughts and tips as a global tastemaker.

Paris guide for fashionistas

Michi Girl - Le Shop Guide - Paris Guide - off the beaten track - My French Life

‘Le Shop Guide’ is another gem from this imaginative (and imaginary) fashionista. From chic hidden boutiques to the loveliest flea markets,

Michi has fantastic insiders tips to find clothes, handbags, jewelry, knickers, and rare vintage items in Paris.

‘Le Shop Guide’ isn’t just shopping – it’s a Paris guide full of recommendations on where to sit and sip. Every shopper qui se respecte needs some rest, after all. Divided by areas rather than arrondissements, and by shopping categories such as affordable chic, last minute gold or pampered Paris, this guide is easy to use, a humorous read, and will soon be un indispensable.

After reading this and drooling over the wonderful illustrations and photos, all we wanted to do was board the next plane to the ville lumière and shop, shop, shop!

My wife is my ultimate shopping companion. After 30 years of marriage we know each other’s tastes and when to say no.

This is a tricky one… I’d say my Mum, but she has a wonderful ability to talk me into buying anything. Still, she is the best shopping companion, so I’ll stick with this choice. 😉

My sister, who I will be traveling to France with this Christmas! She is so incredibly honest, she is more than just my shopping companion.

I’d say my two best friends because everytime we go shopping, we know we’re more into having a break to eat than actually buying clothes 🙂

Aside from my credit card 😉 It’d have to be ,my fiancé?. He is not afraid to tell me “that makes your hips look big”. He also has a designer alter ego who comes out and suggests things like “you might need a little something extra, maybe a belt to complete that look”. And that’s exactly why he’s the best.

Little angel and tiny devil – one saying: you look georgeus, one denying: you’ve just bought similar! 🙂

My husband! He’s super patient, strong enough to carry everything, speaks several languages so can bargain in any country and he’s my favourite companion anyway!
