Thanks to this event, fans of DIY will be able to completely commit to their passion.

The exhibition offers  a large range of ideas which are organized in different sectors And with more than 300 exhibitors, you will have a lot of things to marvel at!

Beside the diversity of stands, I really like the numerous creative workshops in which it’s possible to participate. However, I recommend that you book your place in advance! This is an excellent way to improve your skills and/or discover news activities.

What’s more, there are more than 500 professionally-run workshops during the four days.

The next fair, Création & Savoir-Faire printemps, will be held in March. The event is in keeping with the season, with a spring-focused theme honoring plants.

While waiting to discover the spring 2019 edition, let me share something I fell in love with in fall 2018.

Le Pigeon Coq: made-for-you leather goods

MyFrenchLife™ – MyFrenchLife.org – French DIY - Créations and Savoir-Faire - Trade fairBehind this strange animal name, you will meet Juliette. This young French woman is crazy about bags, and decided in 2016 to make a job out of her passion.

She took the leap and quit her job in the audiovisual sector to launch her own concept: a DIY workshop of leather goods. And so Le Pigeon Coq was created, located in in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris.

The idea: make all your own leather goods.

Belts, card holders, handbags… Juliette and her staff -‘chicks’ as she calls them – will provide you with a range of leather models which you can then make yourself.

The choices are unlimited with these customized creations, allowing you to end up with a personalized look. The most difficult thing will be having to choose between all the leather and accessories available!

The mood is friendly, just like you’re at home. With a small group of fewer than 8 people, you’ll share between 2.5-4 hours of creativity and fun together.

Something else I love: these workshops are not only for women. No, no, no! Men can also come to create their own leather goods, during workshops called ‘little leather goods’. This includes cases for your glasses, belts, passport holders and more.

A beginner working with leather? Don’t worry, you will be assisted step by step by the ‘chick’ team.

Eager to discover new ideas in the DIY world? While we wait  for the next edition of Créations and Savoir-Faire, in March, let’s have a look at last seasons’ trends.  You’re certain to love something!
