Sharing the passion: French & francophile soirée at ‘Les Etages’ in Paris 31 May 2012
Francophiles and French members enjoyed meeting, chatting and sharing tips about France in a cosy and fashionable bar right in the centre of Le Marais in Paris.
Always connected by ‘The French Thread’, My French Life™ members met in a typically Parisian atmosphere where they were able to share their different life experiences.
We spoke with Naomi, who was travelling on her own and “happy to share her experiences with other people”. Naomi has her own butter business in Victoria, Australia and she came to Paris to learn more about how French make butter.
Naomi studied French prior to this trip but she remained anxious about her speaking ability. She was therefore a little nervous before the soirée. What a relief when she discovered that there was no language barrier! People were speaking French, English, and even a little ‘franglais’. Naomi was excited to be able to meet local people and francophiles, and can now say that she has friends in Paris!
With a glass of delicious French wine and some good music, Colleen was also thrilled to be networking at the soirée. She found lots of like-minded travellers and Parisians. Colleen has been in love with Paris for a long time and has lived there for 20 years. Through her business, Colleen shares her Parisian experiences and handy tips for those who want to discover her Paris.
Members and guests who have attended previous My French Life™ events in Paris were delighted to discover that the hosts were local Parisiennes. Both Sylvie and Marianne speak English fluently and love sharing their local knowledge.
Sharing a drink in a friendly, well-known bar which looks onto a vibrant quartier of Le Marais in the heart of Paris, sounds like a dream for francophiles.
We’d love to see you at our next soirée! We also hold regular events in Paris and Melbourne and some other cities soon. Join our My French Life™ community to make sure you hear about all of our upcoming évents !
À la prochaine!
Sounds like it was a really good night – I’m sad to live so far away in the Northpole of France that I couldn’t make but glad it went so well – another time, hopefully, Janine
