My dream job in France: Angela Pepe of Hôtel Le Six
If you could choose any dream job, what would yours be?
What if you could be the ultimate Parisian insider: your finger on the pulse at all times. It probably isn’t the dream job you’re imagining, but we all know that the truth can often be more fascinating than fiction…
Nous vous présentons Angela Pepe, concierge at Le Six Hotel, Paris – Vavin. She shared her daily vie parisienne with My French Life™.
Angela, how would you describe yourself in three words?
Lively, lovely and happy.
Did you always dream of becoming a concierge? What attracted you the most to this job and what was your pathway to this position?
I’m from Brazil but I knew I wanted to live in Paris because I absolutely love it. So I contacted small boutique hotels, including Le Six hotel, and met with the owner who adores Brazil.
Anyway, he liked my CV and personality so I got the job! I’ve been working four years here now.
What is your favourite part about working at this hotel?
From my general manager, to my all of my colleagues and guests, there is a special energy that passes on through each of us and that is what I love about this job. I enjoy going to work, and every minute is different. I am always in contact with a huge variety of people and that is my source of energy.
If you had to attribute a colour to Hotel Le Six, which one would you choose and why?
Orange. It represents the energy of the hotel.
What do you like doing on your days off in Paris?
I love walking around Paris. I try going to the right bank since I am always on the left side of Paris. I also love going to the theatre. There are so many opportunities to see great pièces de théatre – I try to go at least once a month!
Merci beaucoup, Angela for speaking with My French Life™!
