Paris insider tips with Angela Pepe, Hôtel Le Six

Paris insider tips - Hotel le 6 - www.MyFrenchLife.org - Angela Pepe

Imagine the ultimate Paris insider: their eyes and ears always open; their finger on the pulse.

You will find they’ll open doors all over the French capital – not just as you enter their hotel. They are the concierges of Paris, and we’ve set out to share their secrets with you.

Welcome to part two of our interview about Paris with Angela Pepe, concierge at Hôtel Le Six, Paris – Vavin. Angela reveals her favourite locations near to the hotel as well as for a day trip beyond the periphérique.

Come discover with us…

What is the most frequently asked question by guests of Hôtel Le Six and what is the answer?

All in all, most of our guests want to see Paris in the eyes of Parisians, not tourists. So they are interested in knowing about restaurants, cinemas, hair salons etc.

What is the one place you think our readers must visit in or around the 6th arrondissement?

I think everyone should go to the Jardin du Luxembourg for a jog, or if you are a gourmande like me, you can go for an ice-cream and watch the joggers!

What is the one dish you think is imperative for our readers to try while in Paris, and where would you recommend they go to do this?

Coq au vin at Chez Marcel. There is a great atmosphere and it’s right across the street! The manager is from Lyon and they are very nice.
