In France, traditionally the month of September is the month of the school year this year with a small revolution! Musically, New York pays tribute to Edith Piaf and Jean-Jacques Goldman is dedicated favorite personality of French.

Homage to New York at the famous French singer Edith Piaf

Edith Piaf and New York have a history. Party in 1947 to learn English, the singer is then produced for several months Versailles, a posh Manhattan nightclub. It crosses the actress Marlene Dietrich and there born a long friendship. 50 years after his death, New York paid tribute to the famous French singer with two nights on 19 and 20 September, a concert with Patricia Kaas his show “Kaas chante Piaf” and an evening “Francofolies” which brought together Many French artists and Francophiles. Note that the Francofolies is originally a French festival born in La Rochelle. A series of celebrations are planned in New York including French House Columbia and France to celebrate the 50 th anniversary of his death. Jean-Jacques Goldman: French favorite personality
