Creativity Explored: Mangus and Chu
by Michelle MasonWe could see Chu from our spot on the beach—the drop hadn’t been made yet. The sun is setting and it’s getting colder, I wish they’d hurry up.
I hate working this close to Magnus, yet I love it at the same time.
He’s both annoying and intoxicating.
Why does The Firm always partner us?
Magnus leans in for a kiss, slightly turning his head for a better look at Chu. He kis… SHOTS FIRED!
Magnus knocks me to the ground, half-covering me with his body. We lay still for what seems like forever. Only two shots. We give each other a “what the hell just happened” look, as we spit sand out and get back on our feet.
Chu is lying on the sidewalk—dead, or close to it—as a crowd gathers around. The sirens are getting close; time for us to leave.
Thank you to Ron Fox for his photography which inspired this story
Thank you to Michelle Mason for her Fast Fiction
