The festive season has finally arrived and Paris is buzzing with activities and events for all ages!
School’s back and so are the locals. Paris in September has come back to life and there is heaps on!
Paris in June is heating up. Grab the family and head outdoors for festivals, music, sports events and more.
Eight million people scale the Eiffel Tower each year for the view over Paris, and now, amongst the Notre Dame, the Louvre and Sacré Coeur, visitors will be treated to the sight of a great barramundi, floundering on the banks of the Seine, upon the roof of Musée de quai Branly.
The loud whirring of the great lock engines signal a performance is about to begin. As water pours into our hold we feel our croisière purposefully float higher and higher. The gigantic doors of the lock slowly and majestically open, ready for the finale.
Renting a canal boat allows for a slower pace while interacting with rural residents and seeing true France out beyond the metro areas. This photo essay gives a sense of the beauty and serenity that is Burgundy specifically, while hinting at all of rural France.
I hadn’t visited the Louvre, or strolled the Champs-Elysées, or circled the Arc de Triomphe, or found any iconic gravesites... But, I can’t imagine a more exciting introduction to Paris than having only one day to see it.
